As per The Daily Mail, Qatari club Al-Duhail are exploring a move for Glasgow Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombia international has been consistently linked with a move away from Ibrox, with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid also mentioned.

Now, it seems the wealthy club from Qatar could be prepared to make a move. The report adds that the Ibrox outfit are looking for at least £15m for the 23-year-old, with them already having rejected approaches from Bordeaux and Dynamo Kiev.

From a Gers point of view, selling Morelos to the middle east would likely be lucrative. Al-Duhail have already signed Mario Mandzukic and Mehdi Benatia this year, and given they are from an oil-rich country, you would expect they would have more than enough funds to give the 54-time Scottish champions the £15m+ they are looking for.
However, from the striker’s point of view, this would be detrimental to his development. With all due respect to the Qatar Stars League, it does not even come close to the likes of the Bundesliga, La Liga, or the Premier League, which could all be viable destinations for the clinical marksman.

Even though a move to Al-Duhail would see him sign off on lucrative terms, it would show a sincere lack of ambition from Morelos. Given the interest in him so far, this is a move that he simply should not make.
