Ally McCoist has said that Glasgow Rangers and Steven Gerrard must sign two or three players that will walk straight into the first side.
The ‘Gers have already made three signings this summer, with Ianis Hagi, Calvin Bassey and Jon McLaughlin all joining the club from Genk, Leicester City and Sunderland respectively. They have also been linked with moves for the likes of Ivan Toney and Florian Kamberi.

However, McCoist feels that they still need to do plenty more in the transfer window. Speaking on talkSPORT (via GlasgowLive), he said:
“Rangers, I think, need certainly two, probably three to go right into the team. If Steven gets money to spend he needs to sign players who go straight into the team.”
McCoist, who is the club’s record goalscorer, knows a thing or two about being successful in Scotland, and therefore the ‘Gers and their manager should take his words on board. They have a 13-point lead to bridge to Celtic at the top of the table and they could find it hard to do that without bringing in new players.

With the new Premiership season set to start in less than a month, one can only hope that Ross Wilson and co are working on deals to add to their squad. Otherwise, they could find themselves far behind their Glasgow rivals once again.
