Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Glasgow Rangers have had interest from Hibernian regarding Ross McCrorie, and that he will only leave on a permanent deal this summer.
McCrorie has been linked with a move away from Ibrox in the current transfer window, with St. Gallen also said to be interested in his services. He recently returned from a loan spell with Portsmouth, and at 22 years of age it is really about time he found a club where he can settle.

Following the Gers’ 3-0 win against St. Johnstone, Gerrard said:
“Hull are in for Greg Docherty so he has had permission to speak to them.
“We have had some interest from Hibs in Ross McCrorie. Those talks are ongoing. But Ross and Greg will not be going on loan. They have been on two loans. They have done that road.
“If we get bids that we like, that are good enough and big enough, we will consider them. But they won’t be going on loan.”
It really does look like the end of the road for McCrorie at Ibrox. He has made 55 appearances for the 54-time Scottish champions, but he has failed to ever really nail down a starting spot, and has instead spent time on loan at Ayr United and Dumbarton as well as Pompey.

The midfielder is currently valued at £810,000 by Transfermarkt, so the Gers should be looking for at the very least a solid six-figure fee. If he does leave, McCrorie finds a new club and the Gers receive a transfer fee for a player who is not in their plans – everyone’s a winner.
