Glasgow Rangers will kick off their Veolia Trophy campaign against Lyon tonight.
The Gers are taking part in the pre-season tournament as they look to set off on the right track ahead of the Scottish Premiership campaign. With the start of the new term just over two weeks away, Steven Gerrard will no doubt want to see what his best team is.

Here, we try to predict his starting XI.

In goal, Allan McGregor should start. Jon McLaughlin was signed during the summer and should give the current number one plenty of competition, but for now, he is still slightly ahead.
Calvin Bassey could start on the left of the back four again after his goal against Hamilton. He may be joined by Filip Helander, Connor Goldson and club captain James Tavernier.
In midfield, Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield should line up, although it is the attacking trio behind the striker that will excite the Gers supporters. Ianis Hagi should start after making his move from Genk permanent, whilst Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo also find starting spots.

Up front, expect Alfredo Morelos to start. There may continue to be speculation surrounding his future, but Gerrard will still be looking to the Colombia international to cause the French side’s defence problems.
