Ex-Glasgow Rangers player Neil McCann has said that winger Ryan Kent must aim to score 15 goals this season.
Kent made the permanent switch to Ibrox last year for a fee of £7m and has so far had a decent start to life at Ibrox. He has 16 goals in 79 matches, with him having spent a year on loan in Glasgow before joining permanently from Liverpool last September – that is an acceptable return, but far from exhilarating.

McCann actually believes that Kent is better than he was as a player and that he should be targeting 15 strikes this campaign. He told Rangers TV (via Daily Record):
“Listen, Ryan Kent has more tools in the bag than I had.
“My right foot was for standing on! I scored a couple with it, but he’s got real message with both sides.
“And I’ll tell you, I’m not a full-back, but a guy coming at you on either side is more difficult.
“And that’s why I think Alex (Rae) is absolutely right to ask for 15 goals, and Steven Gerrard will be asking for the same amount.”
The £3.15m-valued Liverpudlian has already made a positive start to this season, scoring twice in his first three Premiership matches, but it is important that he continues this form throughout the term. Questions have been asked of him since he joined the club and it is about time he starting silencing the doubters.

For the fee the ‘Gers paid for him, Gerrard needs him to be someone on he can rely consistently for goals. Meeting McCann’s target of 15 goals this season should be enough to do just that.
