As per a report from Sweden (via Daily Record), Glasgow Rangers are said to be interested in Sint-Truiden striker Mohamed Buya Turay.

The ‘Gers have been linked with a whole host of strikers in recent weeks, including the likes of Saido Berahino, Ivan Toney (Daily Mail via The Sun) and Lyndon Dykes.

Now, this latest report mentions Turay as a potential target for the ‘Gers.

Another day, another link to a striker. This is likely brought on by the constant speculation surrounding the future of Alfredo Morelos, and anyone who comes in would have some big shoes to fill if the Colombia international does move away from Ibrox.
Turay, though, has shown that he can be a menace in front of goal. During this year’s Allsvenskan, where he played on loan at Djugardens IF, he scored an impressive 15 goals in 29 league matches, whilst also providing five assists. Overall, he has an impressive record in Sweden, with 32 goals in 65 games in the country’s top tier.

As it stands, he has a Transfermarkt value of £1.08m, although there appears to be no indication of how much he would cost the 54-time Scottish champions if they made their move.
Turay has similarities with Morelos, who excelled in a Scandinavian league, scoring 27 in 42 for HJK Helsinki in Finland before switching to the SPFL. If they could sign him for around £1.08m, the same price the ‘Gers paid for Morelos, it should be an impressive piece of business.
