Gary McAllister says that Glasgow Rangers are aware who Bongani Zungu is, but they are also talking about a whole host of players as they look to boost their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Gers have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old midfielder, with it even being said that the Ibrox outfit and his current club, Amiens, were close to agreeing a fee of £3.8m to take him to Scotland. The South Africa international reportedly wants to play under Steven Gerrard and in the Europa League.

Speaking after the match against Lyon in the Veolia Trophy, McAllister was asked about Zungu. He said:
“We know who Zungu is but our recruitment in bringing players to the club is ongoing.
“We’ve been speaking about hordes of players since lockdown.
“We are constantly on the lookout for players who can come into our team and make it better.”
This should be an indication that there is some truth to those rumours. If they was nothing in it, McAllister would surely just straight out deny the speculation, but this opens the door a little.

After the impressive showing against Les Gones, there may not be any need for a new midfielder, with the likes of Steven Davis and Ianis Hagi putting in solid showings. It remains to be seen whether Zungu does make the move to the Scottish Premiership in the end.
