Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are once again split right down the middle over the future of Arsene Wenger.
And, to be fair, it’s been like this on and off for the club for some time over the last few years with continued high hopes coming crashing down around this time of year.
This season appears to be no different, then, as the Gunners waved goodbye to their title hopes with back-to-back losses against Watford and Chelsea respectively.
Those results once again kicked the Wenger out brigade into gear and, with him yet to sign a new deal with the club, he could at last be about to step down from the Emirates.
It’s certainly got our landlord thinking about who could replace him, then, and he’s come up with these three potential heirs to the throne…
Diego Simeone

Simeone certainly seems like the popular choice amongst the Gunners punters here in the Transfer Tavern and you can see why.
The job he has done on a much smaller budget at Atletico Madrid against the power of Real Madrid and Barcelona simply cannot be under-estimated enough and our landlord thinks he’d be brilliant at the Emirates. The Gunners want a winner in charge and this man epitomises that.
Ronald Koeman

This man’s stock continues to rise and he’d surely continue on his upward trajectory at the Emirates.
He’s beginning to really find his feet at Everton, now, and whilst that project looks like it could be a successful one we’re pretty sure here by the bar he’d jump ship for the Emirates. It could be a shrewd move on the Arsenal hierarchy’s behalf.
Eddie Howe

Speaking of shrewd moves perhaps Howe could be the one.
The Bournemouth manager has seen plenty of plaudits and praise get afforded to him since the Cherries earned promotion to the Premier League and our landlord reckons he is destined for the top. He may take time to adapt to Arsenal but there can be no doubt that he’s got the playing style the fans would love.
