Dream October: Celtic

Celtic have dropped off the pace in recent times as they continue to crumble under Brendan Rodgers, with the title already slipping away.

The Hoops were looking dominant after downing Rangers in the first Old Firm clash of the campaign, but the defending champions haven’t been at their best recently.

Indeed, the Scottish Premiership club drafted in a couple of players during the summer, so it’s safe to say that Brendan Rodgers has a good squad at his disposal. But, it’s all about whether the players can ensure consistency by grinding out positive results from here on in.

Interestingly, the month of October may decide Celtic’s fate as they have the opportunity to climb back into title contention, but things could also go horribly wrong at the same time.

With that in mind, here is the dream October for the Hoops…

LEIGH GRIFFITHS CONTINUES TO FIRE

Leigh Griffiths has been one of the only shining lights for Celtic in recent times as he continues to find the back of the net for the Hoops.

Indeed, the Scotsman was often left on the substitutes’ bench with Odsonne Edouard taking his place in the starting lineup, but times have now changed and the former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker is staking his claim.

So, Brendan Rodgers will be praying that the 28-year-old can continue to fire through the month of October, as this will give the Hoops the best possible chance of meeting their aims and targets.

BRENDAN RODGERS ENSURES EUROPEAN AND DOMESTIC CONSISTENCY

Brendan Rodgers hasn’t been able to rally his troops so far this season as they look a long way off the team that secured back-to-back trebles in recent years.

Indeed, the Hoops were knocked out of the Champions League and have already suffered two defeats in the Scottish Premiership this season, so it’s clear to see that changes need to be made.

Therefore, the Scottish club may be able to enjoy a dream October if Rodgers can ensure consistency both in Europe and domestically, with silverware being sure to follow.
