Jonathan Woodgate was omitted from Tottenham’s 25-man Premier League squad for the 2010-11 season because of injury and has not played since November 2009. Speculation over the future of a much cherished player has bubbled consistently for the entirety of the huge period he has been unable to play.
Whilst everyone wishes him the best, the reality is that Redknapp has already made efforts to shore up the defence in his absence with the signing of William Gallas. Also there is a constant question mark over Ledley King combined with a clear desire to sell Alan Hutton, so it will be interesting to see how the situation develops at the back for a team that see itself as contenders in all major competitions this season.
