I just cannot get my head around this. Scott Flippin’ Parker. Our source in N17 has been told that a Parker deal, ‘…could definitely still happen, they’d like it to’.
This guy has been doing the rounds and achieving little of note since oh I don’t know it feels like ten years, but it’s probably closer to only five or six. 15 appearances at Chelsea, then 2 years of Newcastle’s money before bailing to West Ham. Often cited is the fact he has represented England at every level. The truth is half a dozen runs out in total.
And that is Scott Parker for you. A guy who has never been terrible but at his very best was only ever average. What he does have in spades when looking at his CV is low animal cunning. I’m only amazed he didn’t manage to dip his beak into Manchester City’s money.
So to the vulgarities of money. Where does one start when placing a value upon such a revelation to the modern game? Sullivan and Gold probably want paying in Sovereigns or Krugerrands, but I would imagine this could be as dreadfully inflated as £15 million.
Suggestions are that Jamie O’Hara could be involved in some kind of swap deal type thing.
