‘Has no future’, ‘Bags are packed’ - Chelsea fans on Twitter slate key man after comments

The Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern absolutely cannot believe what they say yesterday. Indeed, while it’s been a difficult season all around Stamford Bridge, the fact that the Blues were battered 0-3 at St. James’ Park by Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United has seriously annoyed our west London locals.

Though there is the small matter of an FA Cup final to come next week, not many of the Blues in our bar are feeling too confident. Clearly, Antonio Conte isn’t the same man as he was last season – during which he led the club to a Premier League title at a canter – and questions marks remain as to his future.

With the Premier League season now finished and only the cup final on the club’s agenda, many online are wondering whether or not Conte has taken charge in the league for the last time. For many of them, they’re hoping he’s done exactly that.

The manager himself, however, has stated that now is not the time to talk about his future and that the team must focus on the FA Cup showdown with Manchester United at Wembley next week, while speaking to the club’s official Twitter account after the game.

Conte says talk about his future is not important at the moment. He adds all our focus must be on the FA Cup final, and trying to finish this season in the best way for our fans, who he says deserved better today. #NEWCHE
