Southampton have come on leaps and bounds since Ralph Hasenhuttl took over at the club, with yesterday’s win helping them climb even further up the table.
The Saints will be desperate to climb even further away from the relegation zone as things could soon change in what is a very unpredictable Premier League.
Of course, with around nine days left in the January transfer window, it’s important that Hasenhuttl looks to get rid of any dead weight in the first-team ranks, as well as strengthening.
One player who just hasn’t been able to have a positive impact all season for the Saints is Mohamed Elyounoussi.
Indeed, the 24-year-old has failed to produce a goal or an assist since moving to St Mary’s back in the summer transfer window, and he has spent most of his time as an unused substitute since Hasenhuttl took over.
Hasenhuttl has opted to set his side up with wing-backs in recent times, which has meant that there’s no place in the side for wingers to operate, other than Nathan Redmond in behind the striker.
So, Southampton simply have to offload Elyounoussi this month as he has offered absolutely nothing in terms of contributions on the field, and he just doesn’t look good enough to operate in the Premier League.
