The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been responding to a story in The Scottish Sun, that’s linked James Tavernier with a summer switch to the Premier League. According to the publication, Everton, Burnley and Swansea are all vying for the right-back who’s bagged eight goals and created nine more for the Gers this season.

Tavernier has been one of Rangers’ consistent performers this season and to have contributed to 17 goals from right-back is an impressive feat in itself. Despite the 26-year-old’s numbers and reported interest from below the border, our Ibrox faithful don’t seem too fussed with the defender and would be happy to sell up and cash in on their man. This season has been tough going for our resident Bluenoses, who would probably sanction the sales of most of their core squad if they could.
The 26-year-old Tavernier has been a key player for Rangers this season though. He recently signed a new deal that’s to keep him at Ibrox until 2021 and he’s also been handed the captain’s armband this year in the absence of both Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller. If the defender was to leave for a return to English football it’s hard to see him being the first choice right-back at any of the clubs who are after him, although that might not stop pursuing a move south in the next few months.
After taking that into account, here’s the verdict of our resident Bluenoses:
