Liverpool: Fans love transfer update on Kai Havertz

According to The Mirror, Liverpool are front-runners to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Since the Bundesliga returned on 16 May, the 20-year-old has set the league alight. In two matches, he has scored four goals, with braces against Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach earning six points for Die Werkself. Even at his age, he already has 33 Bundesliga goals to his name – with most of his performances to date coming in attacking midfield and not as a striker.

As such, there has been plenty of interest in his signature. Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all said to be keeping an eye on the Germany international, but it is the Reds who are said to be leading the chase for one of the most promising talents on the planet. The Mirror also adds that he has a price tag of £90m.

As you can imagine, this has attracted plenty of interest from supporters of the Anfield club – one fan thinks he would be an even better signing than reported transfer target Timo Werner while another described him as the “heir to Firmino’s throne”.
