The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have all been saying the same thing in response to their club’s tweet. The Blues tweeted a video, showing fans the 15 Chelsea players who will be playing for their countries at the World Cup in Russia. However, they’ve captioned the video with “Come on Chelsea”, leaving the obvious joke open for fans to slate them with.

Chelsea fans will have the joy of watching some of their stars light up the tournament this summer, with Cesar Azpilicueta, Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante and Willian all touted to go far with their respective nations. This month of incredible football is meant to be a time when club football takes a back seat, and the fans don’t think that Chelsea have quite got that message after watching their rather cringy World Cup video.
There’s no doubting that the club are just trying to get behind their international Blues but with the style of the video, it’s easy to see why the club’s fans have taken a pop. The tweet also comes at a time of unrest for the blues who want to see the on-going managerial situation sorted out as quickly as possible. Fans want to see Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri appointed by the current Italian gaffer, Antonio Conte is still in charge, although that could all change in the coming weeks.

It’s obvious that the Chelsea fans knew what the club meant by the video, although with the tension the fans feel under with the managerial situation at the moment, they all agree it’s no time to be making World Cup videos.
