The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are all waking up this morning to the promising news that Dylan McGeouch could be on his way to Ibrox. The 25-year-old is out of contract at Easter Road this summer and Gary McAllister has enquired over his availability. However, Hibs and Blackburn are also both keen on getting the Scotland international to sign a deal, according to the Scottish Sun.
Steven Gerrard takes over as Rangers boss officially today and he’s already agreed signed two players. Scott Arfield joined the club from Burnley, whilst Allan McGregor has returned to Glasgow from Hull after a spell away from Ibrox. Now though, McGeouch could become Rangers and Gerrard’s third signing of the summer as the Gers prepare to try and claw back the gap between themselves and Celtic.
The club will likely need a full revamp of the squad if they are to compete with Celtic. The Hoops have won back-to-back domestic trebles under Brendan Rodgers and beat Rangers by an aggregate score of 9-0 in their last two Old Firm fixtures. Gerrard will be facing a familiar face as he takes on Rodgers, who was the Scouse legends gaffer when he left Liverpool back in 2015, although their meetings this time around will be far less friendly.
McGeouch was actually on the books of the Gers as a youngster before moving to Celtic and then onto the Hibees, both of whom are major rivals to the Ibrox outfit. So, as you can imagine, it’d be a fairly controversial switch.
You can read our resident Gers’ verdict on the McGeouch rumours here:
I'm not sure we need McGeouch if we get Jack and McCrorie fit, but the takes are going to be that he's a tim and not staunch enough dismissing how integral he's been to Hibs this season

If McGeouch signs, does he delete all his Celtic posts or keep them

McGeouch would be a great improvement over Holt/Halliday would add something to the squad imo Wouldn’t be the first “unpopular” signing but have to trust what MA is doing
