The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been calling for their club to open up the chequebook and bring Burnley’s impressive number one, Nick Pope, to Anfield. The English ‘keeper played a pivotal role in Burnley’s Premier League season and, without him, the club would not be playing European football next season.
Rumours in recent days have been linking Nick Pope to Liverpool

Liverpool fans are all in agreement that they desperately need to recruit a goalkeeper this summer. The club have been getting by with both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, although the dodgy pairing have more than a few blunders up their sleeves. Jurgen Klopp has been linked with signing both Alisson from Roma and Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid this summer, but the answer to issues between the sticks could be closer to home.
Burnley’s Nick Pope came into this season with little hope of playing senior football for the club. Tom Heaton was the Clarets’ number one and it wasn’t until he got injured that Pope was given a chance. When that chance came the 26-year-old took it with both hands and now he’s residing in England’s training camp in Russia as part of Gareth Southgate’s squad after taking full advantage of his chance at Turf Moor.
Considering his form for Burnley last season, it’s no surprise that our local Reds’ are calling for Pope’s signature…

Karius makes Nick Pope look like Neuer. So yes, i'd take him.
