Valued at around £17m, Nelson Semedo could be an ideal like-for-like replacement for Bellerin after catching the eye at Benfica last season.

Bringing an excellent balance of defence and attack, he has emerged as one of Europe’s best in recent years, and he would certainly be a good replacement for Bellerin.

At 23-years-old, he also has age on his side.

The Southampton full-back enjoyed a successful second season in the Premier League, emerging as one of the best in England whilst impressing for the Saints.

His form will likely attract suitors, so the Gunners would do well to join the race for the Portugal international’s signature.

A move will not be easy to come by, given Southampton’s eagerness to retain their key players, but he is a player that would be worth the fight.
