If Conte starts these 2 Chelsea youngsters against Brighton, it could be the start of something specia

The Chelsea fans inside the Transfer Tavern this week are hoping that Chelsea can keep battling in their quest to try and regain the Premier League title.

Chelsea have hit the second spot in recent weeks and with the recent Man City loss, themselves and Man United would have been buoyed by the result as they try to catch the runaway leaders.

Antonio Conte has not been shy in handing some of the youth academy players a chance this season and according to our bar staff, this should be a blueprint for the future if the Blues are wanting to take advantage of the plethora of talent they have within their hands.

Conte will be looking to gain all three points against Brighton and keep up the pressure on, what is turning out to be a tight run going into the final hurdles of the season.

Our landlord takes a look at two young players Conte should be using this weekend…

Ethan Ampadu

The 17-year-old centre back has hugely impressed when he’s had the chance this season. Ampadu is certainly a star for the future, and our landlord thinks he has the potential to go far in this Chelsea team.

In facing a recently promoted side will also test out Ampadu, as they often are amped up and play the big teams like it’s a cup final, the Welshman will look to stamp his authority early on and impress Conte in a bid to ensure first team action in the future.

Kenedy

Having not made a Premier League start, the Brazilian would look to step into the ever-present boots of Marcus Alonso. One of the areas Conte desperately needs cover is on the left wing-back position as he looks to give the former Sunderland and Bolton man a respite in this second half of the season.

Kenedy, although being linked with various loan moves should be looking to impress Conte enough to stop him putting his hand in his pocket in the transfer market. A big performance from the winger could change a lot of opinions.
