If Antonio Conte starts these two players tonight, Norwich City are getting battered

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to secure their passage into the next round of the FA Cup with a win tonight against Norwich City.

The Blues boss will be eager to add a cup competition to his personal trophy cabinet, something, as a manager he’s never achieved. Although the FA Cup should be a target for Chelsea to bring in some silverware this season, Conte shouldn’t take this game too light-heartedly.

With the chance to bring in some fresh faces and add a little squad rotation to his team tonight, Conte can’t afford to leave out the two players our regulars have been talking about all week.

While it’s looking likely that regaining the Premier League may be out of reach, our Blue fans in the pub would love another day out at Wembley come May.

With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at two players that need to start to progress…

Ethan Ampadu

The 17-year-old centre back is in his breakthrough season with Chelsea and he’s broke on to the stage in remarkable fashion. Having been benched for the draw the last time the two sides met, surely he’ll be hoping to get onto the pitch for the replay to impress Conte again.

However, with Ampadu being so young, Conte may feel a cup game against a Championship side may be a good test to see the ability and skill set of the Welshman. If the defender impresses enough it may be the kick-on to his budding Chelsea career.

Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian goal-getter hasn’t lived up to expectations at the Bridge, and a move out looks likely this winter window, although a final audition for ‘The Batman’ may change Conte’s mind.

Chelsea are in desperate need of back up in the attacking area of the pitch and with many a striker being linked to the club, Batshuayi has the chance to prove why the best solution to the problem is right in front of their eyes.
