The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been scouring the transfer market for players that they want to see join the club and Danny Ings would be perfect for them. The 25-year-old is ready to leave Anfield for more first-team opportunities and the Geordies would happily benefit from that.
Danny Ings is set to leave Liverpool this summer in search of first-team football, according to the Liverpool Echo. Burnley are favorites to sign him, but #NUFC has a long standing interest.

Ings is what Newcastle need. He’s a clinical goalscorer who has been successful wherever he has been when he’s been fit. His time at Liverpool has been marred by some horrible injuries and his time between spells out hasn’t been enough for him to secure himself a place in the team and prove that he belongs at the club. However, his time at Burnley proves that he has what the Magpies need and they’d be lucky to sign him.
The news broke yesterday that Ings will be leaving Anfield and a number of clubs across Europe are interested in him. Newcastle are desperately in need of a clinical striker, with last season seeing their top goalscorer in the Premier League Ayoze Perez score a meagre eight goals. The club needs to bring someone in who can bag consistently and Ings would provide just that, especially as the Geordies look set to offload Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham.

We all know how this ends sadly

Do you think Ings will take wage payments in longstanding interest? It’s the only way he’ll wind up at NUFC

Not someone that will be signed to start as we need a 20m plus striker for that but if Gayle leaves then BT all means get him to replace gayje

@laura_woodsy @mickquinn1089 @talkSPORT I’d love Danny Ings at Newcastle! Better than anything we got at the moment

Whilst the Newcastle fans in the Tavern aren’t optimistic that they’ll sign him, they all agree that he’d be a perfect fit.
