Tottenham Hotspur’s summer rebuild has been one of the busiest in Europe.
Roberto De Zerbi has already welcomed the likes of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke to north London, while Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dúbravka have also arrived on free transfers as Spurs look to bounce back from a disastrous 2025/26 campaign.
However, while plenty of new faces have arrived, Tottenham could also be set to lose one of their key players, with Inter Milan stepping up their interest.
Inter Working on Deal for Djed Spence
According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan have opened negotiations with Tottenham over a deal for Djed Spence.
The England international, who was described as “outstanding” by Harry Kane following his performances at the 2026 World Cup, has emerged as one of Inter’s leading defensive targets after Denzel Dumfries’ move to Real Madrid.
Spence is understood to be open to joining the Serie A champions, who are searching for a versatile right-sided defender as Cristian Chivu prepares his squad for another title challenge.
The 25-year-old already has experience of Italian football after spending time on loan at Genoa during the 2023/24 season, making him an attractive option for the Nerazzurri.
His stock has risen considerably over the past year, with an excellent World Cup campaign for England helping to cement his reputation. Despite playing with a protective mask after suffering a broken jaw, Spence impressed throughout the tournament and played a key role in the Three Lions’ run to the latter stages, making him one of Tottenham’s most valuable assets heading into the new season.
