Celtic have been dominant in recent times as they continue to build towards securing the Scottish Premiership title, with their next test coming in the Europa League against Valencia.
The Hoops will be desperate to go all the way in Europe this season after a number of disappointing seasons in the Champions League under Brendan Rodgers.
But, one thing that has been worrying fans in recent times is Oliver Burke’s future, as according to the Sunday Post, Rodgers believes that a permanent stay for Burke is unlikely.
So, with the Glasgow side possibly missing out on securing the services of the attacker in the summer transfer window, perhaps they should turn their attention elsewhere.
Oliver Burke has been sensational since moving to Celtic Park last month, with an impressive three goals and two assists to his name in seven appearances in all competitions. But, with Rodgers casting doubt over a permanent move in the summer transfer window, it would make sense for the Hoops to look elsewhere.
One player who could be available in the summer is Everton flop Theo Walcott, who has been heavily criticised in the current campaign after joining last year. The Englishman has struggled to find the back of the net and hasn’t really been able to pose much of a threat in the final third, which has resulted in a place on the substitutes’ bench at times.
It’s safe to say that the winger would be a dream summer signing for the Hoops as he has the ability to become a hero at Celtic Park. Indeed, Walcott, who is valued at £18 million (by Transfermarkt), is double the player that Scott Sinclair was prior to his move to Scotland, and the Celtic winger has been influential over the years, so the former Arsenal man would definitely be able to take things to another level in the final third.
The Englishman would be a level above the competition over in Scotland as he’s shown over the years that he can score goals for fun in arguably one of the toughest leagues in the whole of world football. And, with plenty of Champions League experience and a healthy amount of years still left in his football career, it’s safe to say that moving for the Englishman would send fans to dreamland.
