Introducing: The player Wolves should sign in the summer, Pizzi - Introducing

Many Wolves supporters are probably still full of excitement with a trip to Wembley on the cards at the start of next month after getting the better of Manchester United. This season just seems to get better and better for fans and securing a European spot would be the icing on the cake.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s dreams are coming true at Molineux with five at the back and pace in attack working wonders up until this point, and this is only the start for the Midlands club in what is their first season back in the big time.

However, it’s important that the Portuguese boss invests in the right areas in the summer transfer window, and one thing that the Old Gold have lacked in the final third is creativity at times.

Of course, Ruben Neves’ passing range has unlocked many defences in the current campaign but Wolves could do with bringing in an attack-minded midfielder who has the ability to pick the final pass and can score goals. Also, Morgan Gibbs-White has impressed but he’s not quite managed to find the finishing touch just yet.

Wolves should turn their attention towards Portuguese giants Benfica after securing a masterstroke signing in the form of Raul Jimenez back in the summer transfer window.

One player who may be of interest to the Premier League high-flyers is Pizzi.

Interestingly, Calciomercato reported (via Birmingham Live) back in September last year that Wolves would be interested in signing the Benfica midfielder, who is valued at £19.8 million (by Transfermarkt), but nothing came of the interest in January.

However, he’s gone up a couple of levels since the January transfer window as one of the Portuguese giants’ best players at this moment in time, having produced 10 goals and 19 assists in all competitions. He is a very versatile player who has the ability to play on the right-hand side of midfield or in an attacking midfield role, so he could be a great addition for Wolves, especially with Helder Costa failing to impress at the moment.
