Though the Arsenal fans propping up the bar obviously have a Champions League clash of their very own to deal with later on tonight, the fact there is last night’s smashing of Barcelona at the hands of PSG to talk about is somewhat refreshing.
With nerves painted on the faces of those in the Transfer Tavern tonight, waxing poetic about the majestic performance put on by the French champions last night is a welcome distraction.
Well, for the most part.
Many of our north London locals have moved to lament Arsene Wenger for not signing Julian Draxler quick enough, having watched the 23-year-old absolutely tear the Blaugrana apart. The World Cup winner was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates for what seemed like years, though a move failed to materialise properly.
Arsenal have a pretty long history in almost getting a deal for top talent pushed over the line, so you can imagine the frustration amongst their fans.
