It makes sense: The 3 signings Liverpool should seal to seriously enhance the squad

There is a big sense of what could have been for Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern at present.

The Reds looked well set for an assault on the Premier League title following the first half of the season, however, a weak start to 2017 has seen Jurgan Klopp’s men battling for a top four spot for the rest of the campaign.

One thing that our landlord is blaming for the decline in form is the lack of strength in depth at Anfield for Klopp to utilise, and feels the German boss really needs to make the most of this summer’s transfer window in order to ensure that the same problem does not occur next season.

Liverpool fans in the Tavern agree and they point to the way their side missed Sadio Mane whilst he was at the AFCON as proof that they really need to invest this summer, and they have a list of who they would like to see come through the Anfield doors this summer.

As always our landlord has an opinion and he has been casting his beady eye over the list laid out by his loyal Red punters in the Tavern.

Here are the THREE signings he believes will make the difference for Liverpool next season…..

Max Meyer

With Meyer out of contract in 2018, will Klopp return to his home country to bring once the brightest German stars across to Liverpool?

Our landlord certainly believes it is a viable option and believes any club that wants Meyer will not have to pay anywhere near the £45million quoted by his club, Schalke last summer.

Signing Meyer will not be easy with reports emerging Spurs and Everton are also looking at the German.

James Rodriguez

Could Liverpool replace Coutinho with Real Madrid’s, James Rodriguez?

Our landlord believes it would be a major coup for the Reds and would increase the quality of Jurgan Klopp’s side no end, though there is much speculation around James’ Real future – nothing has been confirmed and Anfield could be a more than likely destination.

Kasper Schmeichel

Reportedly a target for Klopp in January, Liverpool fans are buoyed by the news that they may get the Leicester keeper in the summer.

With Simon Mignolet not being Jurgen Klopp’s cup of tea, and Loris Karius not being deemed ready for regular first team football – a move for the 30-year- old would enhance the Reds’ squad for sure according to our landlord.

Fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t sure what his father, Peter, would make of this move for his son being a Manchester United legend, although the big Danish legend did also go on to play for United’s rivals, City, later on in his career.
