Spurs cut the gap at the top of the Premier League table at the weekend after a hard-fought 2-0 away win at Burnley and their supporters here in the Tavern are absolutely delighted!
Looking at the league rankings, it looks like Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be the closest thing Chelsea have to real title rivals this campaign and after the Blues’ home loss to Crystal Palace, it’s added some real spice going into the last handful of fixtures.
Our landlord here in the pub was absolutely delighted with the result- as, as a football fan in general, he wants to see things go to the wire.
But what is clear is that Spurs need to bring in some quality this summer. The reliance on Harry Kane at times is far too high and there is a little too much deadwood in this current crop.

Edinson Cavani
With Vincent Janssen struggling to find form in the Spurs first-team and Harry Kane struggling with injuries, it’s clear Spurs need another star striker in their midst.
And one player that has been touted by the Spurs faithful here in the bar is Edinson Cavani, who continues to shine for Paris Saint Germain.
The Uruguayan striker has been a fantastic player for years and has been pulling his weight fantastically but many fans want to see him in the Premier League so could this summer be the time he makes the move?
Virgil van Dijk
Southampton star Virgil van Dijk might be sitting out with an injury as the season comes to an end but his star quality remains, despite his spell on the sidelines.
He’s impressed for the Saints when he has been in the first-team squad and his quality at this level is absolutely indisputable. A move up the ladder looks pretty inevitable but there’s many Spurs fans here in the pub that think he’d make a cracking addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s up-and-coming Spurs team.
Javier Pastore
PSG star Javier Pastore has been on the fringes of Unai Emery’s team this season and there’s many fans tipping him to leave the club this summer.
And one club that has been tipped by them has been Spurs, who might want to offer the 27-year-old a route into the Premier League for the first time in his career.
He’s got real star quality and would certainly add some level of quality to a Spurs squad that could be title candidates next season.
