With their key stars impressing amid this fine run of form, our drinkers clad in black and white have been calling for a certain Jonjo Shelvey to be handed a recall to the England squad.
Well, according to reports in the Times, they could be granted that very wish.
The Three Lions’ problems in central midfield have been well-documented of late and few would doubt the 26-year-old’s ability to pick out a pass, though attitude problems have seemingly always held him back. However, under the guidance of Benitez, Shelvey looks to have sorted that out for the time being and, as a result, could reportedly be handed an international lifeline ahead of the World Cup.
