It’s time: Conte should make these 2 signings to aid his Chelsea overhaul

Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure silverware in the current campaign, given that they still have a semi-final to play against Southampton in the FA Cup.

The Blues will be desperate to finish the season strongly in the current campaign, as Manchester City look like securing the Premier League title with ease. Indeed, many of our local residents would love for their beloved Chelsea to secure the title next season, but there’s still a number of changes that need to be made if they’re to stand a chance.

Therefore, the Blues will be looking to conduct an overhaul in the summer months, as a number of players could be heading for the exits to make room for some world-class additions. Although, with a Champions League spot still up for grabs as the season comes to a close, anything less than a top-four finish could potentially scare off high-calibre transfer targets.

Nonetheless, Chelsea must aim high this summer to have any chance of catching Man City next season.

With that said, here’s a look at TWO signings that Antonio Conte needs to make to overhaul Chelsea…

James Maddison

James Maddison has enjoyed his breakthrough season at Championship side Norwich City, and a move to the Premier League in the summer would be a just reward for his efforts thus far.

Indeed, the 21-year-old is into double figures for goals and assists and he is a well-rounded attacking midfielder, with many of our local residents believing that he could be a future England star.

Therefore, Conte should look to bring James Maddison to Stamford Bridge in the summer months, as he is a promising young talent that’s already shown he can create and score goals at a high level.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Kalidou Koulibaly has established himself as one of the best central defenders in world football whilst his current side Napoli continue to impress in Italy.

Indeed, the 26-year-old is a defensive rock that’s kept some of the world’s best attackers at bay this season, with many of our local residents desperate to see him replace Gary Cahill in the summer.

Conte should look to bring Koulibaly to the club in the summer transfer window as a solid centre-back that can help iron out any defensive frailties before the start of next season.
