Arsenal are aiming to stay in the battle for the Premier League title but their supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are growing worried this might become another season without silverware.
After missing out on the Premier League crown to Leicester City last season, the pressure is on Arsene Wenger to give the Gunners supporters something to cheer about.
But, his side remain a fair bit off of Premier League table-toppers Chelsea and with a tough run of games to come, it’s looking like a pretty bleak state of affairs.
However, January is just around the corner and talk here in the Transfer Tavern has very much turned to potential targets and who Wenger should be bringing into the Emirates this winter.
It’s clear they need a little more steel in the spine of their squad but who should Le Prof be targeting?
Armed with some suggestions from our Gunners-mad punters, here are THREE transfer targets Arsenal should really try to sign in January…
Ross Barkley

He’s not had the best of seasons over at Goodison Park and may be starting to think whether being at Everton will see him reach his full potential.
Naturally, an ideal move would be to go to Arsenal, where he very much fits the Arsene Wenger philosophy. The Telegraph are reporting the Gunners have an interest and despite having plateaued slightly over the past couple of seasons it’s clear that he’s still one of the most naturally gifted English players in the game.
Romelu Lukaku

We’re sticking with the Everton theme for our second suggestion and we believe it’s only a matter of time before Romelu Lukaku makes the move away from Goodison Park.
He could do a job for a whole plethora of teams, but with Arsenal always pushing to become England’s top sides, we think he’d make a fantastic investment for the Gunners.
Arsenal have been interested before and our landlord thinks it’s time to rekindle that.
Cesc Fabregas

This would be a real blockbuster of a deal and The Sun have recently reported it could just happen.
Location-wise, it would work out for his family life whilst he’d add another element of quality to the Arsenal midfield. The Gunners have a lot of making up to do on Fabregas’ current side Chelsea and you can only imagine him helping them overcome them in the league somewhere down the line.
