Swansea City have been in quite the slump this season but we here at the Transfer Tavern feel that with the arrival of Paul Clement, it’s only a matter of time before their fortunes turn around and they get back to their old ways of attractive football.

The former understudy to Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern and Real Madrid – it is easy to say he’s watched some brilliant players play and the Swans faithful are hopeful it will rub off on his players.

Clement’s last stint as first team manager didn’t quite go to plan at Derby County but this is a different task he has in hand at the Liberty Stadium. With the January window now open it is key that the new boss gets this window just right to help his side beat the drop and stay in the Premier League.

With that in mind, it is about time they clear out some of their players in order to free up more funds for potential new arrivals and to clear out some of the deadwood not performing to the levels they should be.

So with that said, it’s time for Clement to get rid of these TWO Swansea players this week…

NATHAN DYER

The player that won the Premier League with Leicester City last season returned from his loan spell to try and fight back a place in Swansea City line-up – even signing a new contract on his return!

But he found himself out of favour with both his previous gaffers and now it may be time for the 28-year-old to find himself a new club and for Swansea City to cash in on the one-time Premier League champ.

The veteran and arguably a Swansea City legend was named as the club captain at the start of the season and many thought maybe he had another year at the top level in him – but unfortunately he hasn’t been up to the challenge and has found himself out of the side.

In order to maintain his status with the fans and the club, he must surely call time on his time with the Swans and look into the Football League to see out the rest of his career.
