It’s fair to say that Stoke fans in the Transfer Tavern have seen their side experience an indifferent first half of the season – and with a busy Christmas period before the January transfer window, will Mark Hughes look to make changes within the starting line up before recruiting more players? 

The Potters currently sit in 12th in the Premier League and it’s fair to say that our landlord expected more this season – so is it time for these two players to be dropped?

Following an indifferent run of form with the last 5 games, the answer surely would be a yes in a fight for more consistency.

However, Mark Hughes has stuck with a similar bunch of players and maybe now is the time to make a change and try a propel their way into the top half of the table.

With that said, it’s time for Hughes to drop these 2 Stoke City players…

Wilfried Bony

With just 2 goals in 9 Premier League appearances, it is fair to say that Bony has not hit the heights that he had hit of old.

Whether that was a result of low confidence following the little game time he got whilst at Manchester City or whether he has just struggled to settle in to the Stoke team, it is fair to say that Potters fans in the Tavern had expected much more from him this season.

A spell on the sidelines may be able to reinvigorate the Ivorian.

Bruno Martins Indi

With Marc Muniesa waiting in the wings, Stoke fans in the Transfer Tavern are questioning whether Mark Hughes should reunite the former Barcelona prospect with club captain, Ryan Shawcross.

Martins Indi has not necessarily done much wrong, however, the prospect of Maniesa is surely one that Mark Hughes cannot keep ignoring.

In an ideal world, Hughes could consider playing Muniesa, Shawcross and Martins Indi in a back three but that is a discussion for another day.

For the current formation, it is believed in the Transfer Tavern that Martins Indi is the man that should make way with Muniesa taking his place.
