Slaven Bilic is something of a cult hero here at the Transfer Tavern, as our West Ham punters are desperate for the Croatian to succeed at the London Stadium.

However, one thing must be noted that his current crop of talent remains some distance off the club’s ambitions.

For Bilic to take the Irons forward, he must chop some big-name members of his first-team squad.

The London Stadium has been a dreary move for the Hammers as of yet, with injuries and poor transfers being the downfall of the East-Londoners.

The Claret and Blue’s recent form has raised questions about the depth of the squad available at his disposal.

Payet’s early season injury halted any progression Bilic had intended pre-season.

After much discussions with our Tavern Landlord, here are THREE players that Slaven Bilic should consider chopping from his squad in the winter transfer window….

Jonathan Calleri

When Bilic forked out the necessary funds to secure Calleri on a season-long-loan, most of our Hammers punters became rather excited.

Calleri has been anything but exciting for West Ham thus far, and in 9 games for Bilic’s Claret and Blue’s, he has failed to find the back of the net.

A settling in period is required for young foreign strikers.

However, Calleri looks a million miles from looking comfortable at the London Stadium.

Ashley Fletcher

The former Manchester United graduate came to the London Stadium with a predatory reputation in front of goal.

As of yet, Fletcher looks some distance off living up to his reputation.

His recent form has brought questions marks surrounding a loan move, with Leeds United favourites for his signature.

It may be too harsh to judge Fletcher due to his age, but his lack of awareness and clinical nature have our punters here at the Tavern firmly against him.

Diafra Sakho

In August, a proposed transfer to West Brom collapsed after Sakho failed a medical in the Midlands.

Sakho’s West Ham career looks over, and Bilic should be forcing the Senegal striker out to improve his chances of securing a 20 goal striker in January.

With Sakho expected to return from injury shortly, Bilic will surely have a host of suitors waiting to prize away the striker – much to the delight of our Irons fans here at the Transfer Tavern.
