It’s time for Walter Mazzarri to wield his axe on these 3 Watford players

Watford have enjoyed a good start to this season, with our resident Hornets fans here in the Transfer Tavern excited by the fact they are currently in the European places.

Indeed, the side from Vicarage Road are currently seventh heading into the weekend’s fixtures and have recorded some pretty decent results along the way this season with one sticking out in particular.

The 3-1 win over Manchester United at home earlier this season was the moment the players must have realised they can compete with some of the very best, despite the Red Devils’ struggles this season and it was also a moment for Walter Mazzarri to prove he knows exactly what he’s doing.

The Italian has impressed on more than just one occasion this season though with the club adapting to his back-three preference nicely.

What he needs to do now, though, is shift some of the players from the club that aren’t performing well enough right now with our landlord proposing these THREE…

Odion Ighalo

ighalooooooo

This is a big call because Ighalo was key last season but he’s gone missing this season and Mazzari has a decision to make.

The Nigerian and Troy Deeney carried the side last season for goals and now it looks like it’s just down to Deeney which isn’t ideal.

Isaac Success looks like quite a good prospect, though, and that could leave Ighalo out of the team and out of the door.

Costel Pantilimon

costel-pantilimondddd

The lanky goalkeeper keeps getting Premier League contracts and it’s a bit of mystery as to why.

He wasn’t very good for Manchester City nor was he for Sunderland and now he’s at Watford not playing behind Heurelho Gomes.

The Brazilian has played well recently but Watford could find a better ‘keeper than him, and they should get rid of Pantillimon to make room.

Jerome Sinclair

Sinclair

Sinclair took it upon himself to leave Liverpool because he felt he was good enough for first team Premier League football, and duly joined Watford to prove everyone wrong.

The only issue being? He’s barely played.

Sinclair showed a lot of promise with the Reds but poor decision making amid other factors have left him to watch on from the sidelines, and he needs to leave to save his career.
