The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern, once again, have the veteran Kenny Miller to thanks for saving their bacon in the Scottish Cup as he bagged two late goals to see his side past Motherwell. 

Amazingly, the former Scotland star remains a huge part of the Gers’ setup as they attempt to finish second in the SPFL upon their promotion, pushing the likes of Joe Dodoo and Martyn Waghorn further down the pecking order.

With Mark Warburton having already brought in the likes of Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman to provide some extra creativity to his ranks at Ibrox, there are other areas of the squad hotly contested right now.

Though much of the talk in the Tavern will naturally centre around the prospect of seeing more players arrive in Glasgow, perhaps Warburton should look to decrease the number of players he has at his disposal right now.

Considering all of this, here are TWO players Rangers should look to loan out in the January window.

Martyn Waghorn

Though he proved prolific in the Championship last term, it’s fair to say Martyn Waghorn hasn’t had much more than a cameo role in most of the games he’s appeared in thus far. With Miller in such lethal form and the likes of Dodoo emerging – along with Joe Garner – the 26-year-old doesn’t naturally appear to have a role in the starting XI.

With that in mind, perhaps the former Sunderland man should be afforded a transfer.

Michael O’Halloran

Another attacker struggling to command a starting berth at Ibrox, the former St. Johnstone ace has been linked with a move away. While he’s proved a popular player at times, there is surely little room for him remaining in Glasgow and the 26-year-old would surely benefit from a move as he enters the prime of his career.
