Tottenham Hotspur now find themselves back in the title race after a strong run of results, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City slipping up along the way.
Mauricio Pochettino has really had to dig deep to get the best out of his side in recent times, with injuries taking their toll on Spurs’ season. But, they’ve managed to pull through so far, with Harry Kane potentially returning next week.
Therefore, with the Englishman set to return in the near future, tomorrow’s game against Leicester City at Wembley Stadium will be crucial for a couple of the club’s current first-team members.
With that being said, these TWO Spurs players have it all to prove tomorrow with Kane edging closer to his return…
FERNANDO LLORENTE
Fernando Llorente has only managed to find the back of the net once in the Premier League this season, but he managed to provide the assist for Spurs’ winner against Newcastle United last time out.
Pochettino opted to start with the Spaniard on the substitutes’ bench last time out, but he may look to gift him a starting place tomorrow against a very physical Leicester defence.
So, Llorente has it all to prove tomorrow if he is to stand any chance of securing regular minutes once Kane returns, as he hasn’t exactly made a name for himself in his absence.
VINCENT JANSSEN
Vincent Janssen is yet to feature in the first-team ranks in the current campaign but did manage to find the back of the net on a number of occasions recently for Spurs’ Under-23 side. And, his recent form has secured him a place in the North London club’s Premier League squad, so he may secure his first minutes in tomorrow’s game.
Of course, having spent such a long period outside of the first-team ranks and with Kane nearing his return, it’s vital that the Dutchman makes an instant impact against the Foxes as it could shape his future at the club.
