It has been quite the season for Jordan Henderson.
After being slated in the past by some of the club’s supporters, he has come into his own this campaign. As Liverpool have raced to the top of the Premier League table, he has been a leader in the middle of the park. Such has been the quality of his performances, it has been suggested in some quarters that he should win the Player of the Season award.
It seems he is doing as good a job off the pitch as well. Obviously, there is no football at the moment, but the 29-year-old is keen to do his bit to support the NHS during this time of hardship. As per The Times, he has coordinated a fund for the health service to combat the pandemic that is currently wreaking havoc across the nation.
The Liverpool fans are clearly proud of their captain, and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts – one fan has even said he should run the country. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
No one could have imagined a non-Scouser who succeeded Gerrard could be as inspirational as Stevie G himself.

Always has been even when he wasn’t fully appreciated by some of our own fans. The man just does whatever is asked for the cause sacrificing personal glory. What a leader. #LFC

Absolutely. Remember when people laughed at his price tag in 2011? Not laughing so much these days are they.
