Liverpool will want to improve their squad this summer as they look to build on last season’s performances and be able to compete across all competitions.
Despite Jurgen Klopp’s side reaching a Champions League final, the Reds were not at their best domestically in patches of the campaign and that would have left the German with some concerns that he will want to address.
He has already made a couple of changes to his side with the additions of Naby Keita and Fabinho, however, it is thought a goalkeeper and an attacker are still on his wishlist this summer.
In terms of a shot-stopper, it is believed that AS Roma’s Alisson Becker has been his number one target, however, it now appears that the Brazil international is off their radar despite reports in Italy claiming a bid had been made.
Widespread reports in Italy on €65m Liverpool bid for Alisson…completely wrong (unfortunately). NO bid from @LFC, no contact at all with player or club. No plans to bid at this stage either. Was some interest earlier in window, but cooled and not revived. #LFC

David Maddox, who is a journalist for the Daily Mirror, has stated on his Twitter account those reports were false and that Liverpool have in fact cooled their interest with no plans to make a bid for him.
The Verdict:

Alisson has been touted with a move to Anfield for a while as Liverpool are thought to be keen on strengthening that position following Loris Karuis’ blunders, however, it is widely thought that the Serie A outfit have out-priced them with their valuation for the Brazilian.
It remains to be seen if Klopp does begin to look elsewhere for a new number one, however, it does not look like Alisson is his man for the time being.
Liverpool fans – thoughts?
