It was a wonderful night for the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern last night.
Indeed, the Bhoys in our bar were delighted to see the club win their first Champions League group game in five years, with a stunning 3-0 win away at Anderlecht.
Our punters clad in green and white have been dancing on the pool tables for hours now and one of the names they’ve chanted the most has been that of Dedyrck Boyata’s.
Starting his first European game of the campaign, the Belgian defender thoroughly impressed in his homeland, despite former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish referring to him as a weak link.
With Mikael Lustig having been forced to start centrally during the opening day loss to Paris Saint-Germain, the former Man City youngster’s strong performance has delighted our resident Hoops.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how they reacted on Twitter.
boyata quite literally head and shoulders above anyone on the park tonight. am feelin supersonic give me patrick roberts.

If you told me a year ago the commentators would say ‘great skill from Boyata’ more than once in a game, I would have laughed in your face!

People are forgetting we played PSG with Ralston (RB) and Lustig (CB) at the back.
We’re much better with Boyata. Balanced & confident!

After being out for months big Boyata was excellent tonight just as Alex McLeish predicted

"I've told Anderlecht that Boyata is the weak link for Celtic" – Alex McLeish
And that Alex is why you're collecting job seekers every week.— Brownie (@Mark_T_Brown) September 27, 2017
