Juventus: Fans react negatively to injury to Douglas Costa

Many Juventus fans have reacted negatively on Twitter to the news that key player Douglas Costa is out with an injury.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport (via @ForzaJuve2017 Twitter page), Douglas Costa may be out for at least a month after getting injured against Fiorentina on the weekend.

The Brazilian speedster appeared to pick up a muscular injury within the opening five minutes of the match in Florence and was subbed for Federico Bernardeschi shortly after the incident.

The winger has started every game this season and has contributed two assists, averaging the most dribbles in the squad per game this season (2, via WhoScored), as well as the joint-most key passes over the same period (1.7). Indeed, according to AS, the former Bayern Munich ace is a doubt for the upcoming game with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, prompting one fan to predict the outcome.

In Maurizio Sarri’s first-ever league game in the dugout for the Old Lady, not a lot went right for the man back from pneumonia. Not only was his side unable to score against a side who were yet to win a point that season, but Miralem Pjanic and Danilo both also left the pitch for their problems with injuries.

There was a mixed response from the Juve fans, with many being extremely frustrated at the amount of time he is out for, while others thought the injury was going to be worse.
