Real Madrid versus Tottenham is not only a chance for the Lilywhites’ fans in the Transfer Tavern to see their team pit their wits against the Champions League holders but also an opportunity to witness Ronaldo versus Kane.
Cristiano Ronaldo is one football’s icons and continues to perform at a remarkable level for club and country despite being the wrong side of thirty. The four-time Ballon d’Or winner scored his first La Liga goal at the weekend the 2-1 win at Getafe but has notched on four occasions in Europe and will be eager to add to that impressive tally. And whilst he has 32 goals in 35 games this calendar year, one man who can boast a better record is English hot-shot Harry Kane.
The Spurs’ forward has 36 goals in 32 games in 2017 and despite his infamous profligacy in August once again, he already has eleven strikes to his name across all competitions, including five in Europe. As a result of his prolific goalscoring, the inevitable comparisons with Ronaldo are being drawn and the meeting of the respective players’ clubs only heightens that.
With that in mind, here’s how football fans on Twitter have been reacting to the pair coming up against each other…
Brace yourselves for the Kane > Cristiano tweets when Kane scores tonight and Ronaldo doesn't.

Fed up hearing about Kane now. He's not a great footballer, just knows where the net is. Clearly not in the same bracket as ronaldo or messi

People really still believe Ronaldo > Kane? Ronaldo’s only decent aspect was goalscoring, Kane is now better at that. Easy choice for me.

We are living on this planet at the same time as Ronaldo, Messi and Harry Edward Kane. Feel blessed.
