Liverpool are reportedly willing to pay a club record fee for RB Leipzig central-midfielder Naby Keita. It appears Liverpool’s owners are determined to back Klopp in the market and provide the German with players that can challenge for the league.

Klopp also has big decisions to make within his squad. A number of Liverpool players failed to deliver for their manager last season and the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss may be thinking about cutting them loose.

Alberto Moreno

The Spaniard is deemed surplus to requirements by the fans, but is not yet on the sold list for the club this summer.

For much of last season he was cast aside by Jurgen Klopp in favour of James Milner, and it is easy to see why. The Spaniard seriously struggled for the Reds, and his performances only worsened as the season continued.

Our landlord expects Klopp to replace him this summer.

Simon Mignolet

Both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius were frequently dropped and recalled by Jurgen Klopp last season, with each goalkeeper struggling in their own way.

Loris Karius certainly showed potential, though, and whilst Mignolet looked good too – it is clear that Karius is an option for the future.

Klopp needs to make a decision on how he wants to proceed with regards to his goalkeeper, and our landlord thinks that he will back Karius – potentially leaving Mignolet out in the cold.
