Having announced Nike as their official kit manufacturer for the forthcoming season, several Tottenham supporters will be anticipating new arrivals. However, Mauricio Pochettino will be facing many critical decisions regarding potential departures too.

Our landlord has decided to assess two players that the Spurs manager could keep or sell at White Hart Lane this summer.

Vincent Janssen

The 23-year-old’s transfer to Tottenham prompted considerable enthusiasm. The Dutch striker had just scored a staggering 31 goals in 49 appearances for AZ and consequently was rewarded with a mega-money move to Tottenham – a move that has failed to transpire as hoped.

Janssen only managed to score two goals in the league for Spurs and only managed a mediocre total of six goals in all competitions – most of which were converted from the penalty spot. For a player that was signed for £17M, Janssen’s first season in England has been a bitter disappointment.

Nonetheless, there is cause for optimism.  He is regarded as a player who is comfortable using either foot and has scored a reputable total of seven goals in 13 appearances for the Netherlands. His ball retention is particularly impressive and given the right guidance and ample opportunities, the 23-year-old could rediscover his best form. Our landlord believes firmly that Spurs should keep hold of the striker and see if his Tottenham career can be revived.

Georges-Kévin Nkoudou

Another underwhelming transfer that was concluded last Summer is Georges-Kévin Nkoudou. Upon his arrival, it appeared that Spurs had completed one of the bargains of the Summer. Having scored ten goals in 41 appearances for Marseille, a fee of £11M seemed exceedingly good value for a player that was exhibiting such enormous potential. Nonetheless, his move to Spurs has been a categoric failure.

The winger only made two starts for the North London club, and in 18 appearances he failed to provide a single assist or even score a goal. With Tottenham’s rumoured interest in Lemar and Suso brewing, it appears that Pochettino has no interest of keeping the winger this Summer. To exacerbate matters for the Frenchman, he was recently pictured wearing a Chelsea shirt, which for many Tottenham supporters were seen as the final straw in the starlet’s disappointing career. For the sake of his career, our landlord believes Nkoudou should be sold.
