Kieran Trippier’s groin injury not thought to be too serious

Tottenham Hotspur head into the international break with a hard-fought victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend.

However, Mauricio Pochettino will have come away from the game fearing the worse after another one of his players picked up an injury during the contest.

Kieran Trippier had to withdraw from the encounter with the Eagles in the first half of the match at Selhurst Park with a groin injury.

However, according to a report by The Daily Mail, it appears that Pochettino can rest a little easier after the latest assessment.

It is understood that Trippier’s groin issue is not too serious and could miss very minimal action, with thanks to the international break taking place over the next two weeks.

The Verdict:

Pochettino and Spurs will be able to breathe a huge sigh of relief after hearing that Trippier’s groin trouble should not cause them too much concern.

There still is not a timeframe in place for how long the right-back could be facing on the sidelines, but with suggestions that it is not too serious, he could be available when Tottenham meet Chelsea.

However, there will be some concerns that Trippier has become the ninth player to become unavailable for selection and head into the treatment room.
