Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting big things in 2017 from their side and so, naturally, they want to see some good signings in January to kick-off in style.

The Reds have been flying this season and are looking to finally win the league and end their drought that has gone on since 1990.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino have all helped their cause so far, too, and so if they can keep it up, they’ll be looking good.

However, many here by bar reckon the Reds need to add some more options to their squad if they are to really challenge for the title and our landlord definitely agrees with that appraisal.

With that in mind, then, he reckons Jurgen Klopp should be knocking on the Reds’ owners’ door and asking that deals are sanctioned for these two stars…

Christian Pulisic

Pulisic is one of the most exciting young talents around in European football so the prospect of him working with Jurgen Klopp is exciting our local Reds punters.

The American star has made himself right at home on the top stage with regular Bundesliga and Champions League appearances so he certainly wouldn’t be daunted by a switch to Anfield. Klopp knows how to make good players great, too, and so if he can get this one done it should prove a good move.

Franck Kessie

Another talented young footballer that many are raving about at the moment is this man – Franck Kessie.

The powerful 20-year-old midfielder has scored a number of goals from his deep lying base and has earned comparisons to Yaya Toure for the way he bombs forward. He’s still got a fair way to go before he emulates the Man City man, of course, but the early signs are that he looks a top player and our landlord thinks the Reds should make a serious offer.
