Klopp must consider signing these 2 lower league gems for Liverpool in January

Liverpool have made a blistering start to this season.

They currently sit third in the Premier League table and have only really slipped up once when they were defeated by lowly Burnley at Turf Moor.

After that game, a lot of doubt was cast on the Reds because of their inability to defeat the sides lower in the table.

However, they brushed those fears aside with a thumping win over Hull City as well as coming through a tough test at the Liberty Stadium, beating Swansea 2-1.

Despite their improvements, Liverpool can’t afford to let up and there’s plenty of talent in the lower leagues that could help raise their game even further.

The punters at the tavern are frequent watchers of lower league football and have been scouting the talent for a few years now.

They compiled a pretty extensive list of gems but here are TWO that could help Liverpool if they bought them this January….

Will Hughes

The Derby midfielder has made 134 league appearances for the Rams, despite only being 21-years-old.

He has scored 7 league goals and was talked of as one of the finest prospects in English football.

An unfortunate injury kept him out of the game for 8 months last season, only returning for Derby’s cursed play-off push where they were defeated by Hull City.

Despite his injury, Hughes is still considered as one of the best midfield prospects in the country and could definitely make the step up from Championship to Premier League.

Jonathan Kodjia

Another striker who impressed whilst at Bristol City is Jonathan Kodjia before moving to Aston Villa this summer.

The French-born Ivorian footballer scored 19 goals in 49 league appearances for the Robins.

Kodjia is a striker who can make something out of nothing and is a prolific goalscorer.

However, at Villa he is yet to find his feet despite the lofty price tag.

He was purchased for £11m which could rise to £15m which is an exceptional price for a player in the Championship.

Despite that, the punters here in the Tavern are sure he could make the step up to the Premier League and would help take Liverpool up another notch.
