Klopp needs to keep tabs on these two RB Leipzig players for Liverpool

Liverpool might sit atop the Premier League at the moment but that does not mean they are perfect.

Far from it actually and Klopp probably agrees that Liverpool are not the finished article, just yet.

Despite that, there’s no denying that they have been one of the best teams in England this season and some of the attacking football they play has been mesmeric.

In their most recent game at Anfield they netted six past the helpless Hornets; a victory which moved them top of the league on their own.

After the international break the pressure will firmly be on the reds due to growing expectation because of the manner of football they were producing.

However, Klopp could do with glancing a curious eye back to Germany where a new team, RB Leipzig are challenging Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga and currently sit joint top.

Whilst Klopp was at Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig were just rising but now they have a truly talented squad.

The punters here at the tavern think that these TWO RB Leipzig players would aid Liverpool’s march to the title….

Marcel Halstenberg

Without a shadow of a doubt Liverpool have troubles at left-back.

Whilst James Milner has stepped up the mark and performed fabulously at full-back this season, it is not his natural position and if Liverpool are looking for a long-term solution, Milner should not be it.

Not only is it not his preferred position, but Milner is now 30-years-old which is a good age for a footballer but not if you’re playing full-back in a team that requires constant running and usage of energy.

Halstenberg on the other hand is a 25-year-old left back for RB Leipzig and he is having a cracking season.

He is one of three players to have played every game this season and has made more interceptions per game than any other team mate. Stats courtesy of our mates at Whoscored.com.

The German is tall strong and paced and well worth considering a look at.

Yussuf Poulsen

The young winger has featured nine times for the relatively new club this season, scoring one goal and assisting once.

The Dane joined the controversial German club in 2013 where he has since helped guide them to promotion to the Bundesliga.

He has now already got 96 league appearances for the Bulls under his belt, scoring 27 times.

And yet, the Dane is still only 22-years-old and would appear to have a long and prosperous career in football still to come.

Now, whilst Liverpool are not struggling for attacking talent of their own, if a couple of the attacking trio of Lallana, Coutinho or Mane found themselves injured, Poulsen would be the perfect and ideal replacement.

He is young and pacy and is someone Klopp should definitely keep close tabs on.
