Chelsea fans are getting nervous in the Football Transfer Tavern after hearing that the Champions League winners are set to make a bid for their Brazilian midfielder in January.

According to talkSPORT, Ramires is Real Madrid’s number one January transfer target, as they prepare to strike a deal for the box-to-box midfielder as they look to balance out their attack minded side.

Carlo Ancelotti is desperate to bring him in but he would have to cough up at least £30 million for his services.

In terms of the 27-year-olds availability, he has only featured three times in the Premier League this season, with Nemanja Matic keeping him out of the side, making a potential move in January seem possible.

It is thought Los Blancos are eager to get their man as Ancelotti’s side have come under heavy scrutiny since the start of the season, with critics saying they lack balance.

With the departures of Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria, many believe it has left them vulnerable in midfield.

The Brazilian signed a five-year deal two years ago, keeping him at the club until 2017, but as his game time is decreasing, the likelihood of him leaving the club is increasing.

Madrid hope to be his escape from Stamford Bridge and Punters believe it would be a good move for both the player and Madrid.

Because he will most likely play in the big games, where a holding man is needed, and also he will step in for Luka Modric or Toni Kroos throughout the season.
