The Stoke City fans in the Transfer Tavern were over the moon after they finally reversed a run of losses and beat Huddersfield Town in the Premier League. With Paul Lambert now at the helm, Stoke have moved out of the relegation zone for now but he knows that transfer activity is needed this month.
Stoke will be looking for players who can add something to their squad now but also bolster their team in the future. Lambert will be running the rule over a number of players and one player he has recently cast his eye over would be a fantastic addition.
According to sources close to Goal, Stoke City have launched a second bid of $4.5m – which could rise to $6m in add-ons – for Jack Harrison after New York City rejected their first offer of $3m. Harrison plays for New York City in the MLS but could be set for a move back to England.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United schoolboy moved to the United States as a young boy and has continued his rise to footballing stardom on the other side of the Atlantic. Despite his young age, Harrison is already impressing many scouts with his displays in America.
The 21-year-old already has over 50 appearances to his name at New York City and he is considered to be a star for the future. But Harrison needs to move to Europe and join a big league for his career to progress.
The England under-21 international will also harbour ambitions of playing international football at senior level and he needs to make a name for himself in the Premier League first. With lots of attacking talent, the winger could be a shrewd addition for Stoke this month.
